Acceptance

By installing the Citadel Vault extension, creating an account, or using our web app, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Citadel Vault provides password management, autofill, authenticator (TOTP), and related security features across supported browsers and devices. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve security and usability.

Citadel Vault is offered free of charge. Optional support contributions (for example, Buy Me a Coffee) are voluntary and do not unlock paid tiers.

Your account

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your sign-in credentials, vault passcode, and recovery options secure
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Maintaining accurate account contact information for recovery emails

Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We provide password recovery via secure email links; we cannot recover your master vault secrets if you lose access to your account and recovery options.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Citadel Vault for unlawful activity or to store content you do not have rights to
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service or other users' vaults
• Circumvent security, rate limits, or access controls
• Upload malware or abuse support or recovery channels

Intellectual property

Citadel Vault, its branding, extension, and website are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the content you store in your vault. You receive a limited, revocable license to use the service for personal or internal business purposes in accordance with these terms.

Disclaimers

Citadel Vault is provided "as is" and "as available." We strive for strong encryption and reliable sync, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. You are responsible for maintaining backups and evaluating whether the service meets your security requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Citadel Vault and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (typically zero for the free service).

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes may also be communicated in-product or by email where appropriate.
